RANT OF THE DAY: (oooh where to begin, life definately does not have a roseant hue this particular monday)
1)The bizarre and painful neccessity of making puns about wayne rooneys name that most of the press seem to be indulging in. Is it not bad enough for the poor we thing that he looks like a love child of mickey rooney and anne widicombe?
2)Pint glasses on sale in shops at £2 for 4. why? just take them out on long term loan from your nearest hostelry next time you have a beer, the hire price is included in the extortionate price they charge for the contents.
3)The Tennis and digital. Coming under the combined title of the BBC, WHY? two channels full of tennis for two weeks? WHY? i can accept that some people like tennis and can even see why we want that dull nobber 'Dear Timmy' to win, but I want to have a choice, you can bet if they crammed two channels with footy for two weeks there would be uproar so why is i acceptible for tennis? I think that its because the wonderful beeb want us all to buy digital tv to escape from bloody wimbledon. Digital TV i might add that shows programmes paid for with licence payers money which can only be wathced if you pay an extra charge for a digital box. I've already paid for those programmes and dont see why I should have to again.
4)Politicians and the word CHOICE. Alright, I choose to send my kids to Eton and be treated in Harley street, thats having a real choice. And who decides on our choice of politicians,? the political parties and why do we vote for them? because we have no choice short of standing for election yourself and losing a £5000 deposit. - and I choose not to watch the tennis......or digital TV.
SONG LYRIC OF THE DAY:-
In the end I confronted her about it
I said 'I'm the most illegible batchelor in town'
She said ' yea, thats why I can never understand those stupid letters you write me'
But in the end it happened
She cut her hair and I stopped loving her
(Billy Bragg)
GIBBER, GIBBER, CLUCK CLUCK, GIBBER
I think from now on gibber and rant should merge, they appear interchangable
ere roof have you got a blog address?
Matt and Marv - sorry about the cider induced cold sweats and shaking on sunday
Shoogs - CLOSE THE GATES
Jonathan and Sam - squash sundee? when will i see you again wooh wooh
Anyone else and those above mentioned Sorry and bye for now x
ooh extra song lyric today:-
Just because you're better than me
Doesn't mean I'm lazy
Just because I'm dressed like this
Doesn't mean I'm a comunist
(That mentalist Billy Bragg once more)
Love and hugs

Rant of the Day:-
Those bloody awful baggy jeans that kids where today that makes it look like they’ve plopped themselves. I do apologize for having an opinion on the subject of fashion when I am clearly neither qualified or experienced enough to have one, but I really don’t see the appeal in walking around in a pair of jeans so baggy that your pockets are at the backs of your knees. Face it, you look like you mugged a tramp for his trousers, after he’d soiled them. While I’m in favour of baggy clothes in general (as a fat bloke I can see the validity of such clothing), what is the point, we should get Jerome some – I can see it now, big baggy trousers, those enormous feet of his in his shiny silver trainers, and his basketball top - he’s just bad make up short of a clown.
Song Lyric of the Day:-
I feel like an island of rage in a vast sea of peace
Like a worm in a cathederal, like a beggar at a feast.
Gibber of the Day:-
Marv, what is this great theory of which you speak, I must have been mashed if I attempted a mathematical reasoning why we should drink more of the naughty apple juice. Did it go along the lines of – if it takes two men twenty minutes to fill a fifty gallon bath full of water, how long will it take me to drink a pint of cider? Albert says cider equals apples squared? Do tell - its refreshing to know I’ve been clever, even if I was too drunk to remember.
And now, ladies and gentlemen I introduce you to yet more hendred based ranting but this time from a man who DOES NOT DRINK - so sober and yet so cynical. Might just as well have a pint I say.
http://rantline.blogspot.com/
And where pray did Matt and Marv get to on Sunday when I was awaiting their words of wisdom - oh well, let it be – I was in the Eystons listening to young Dais tell stories of ‘life with ed’ make a good book that. I kept saying Dais – too much information upon which Mr Long would punch me and insist she continue.
I was a little wasted, but that was in my younger and more impressionable years (Great Gatsby?) when I drank too much, not like now where I am a fine upstanding recovering alcoholic with no desire to harm anyone, but a desire to live in peace with all humanity – just like George ‘appropriately named’ Bush.
Oh well, better go. What happened to the dreams I had in the days of my youth eh?
Yours with the deepest respect etc

Dan, why don't you tell the world about your theory of drinking, the one that says it's purely mathematical? Love Anna

RANT OF THE DAY:-
Soap Operas - in a time when we seem to devise better and better ways of wasting time the soap opera is the zenith of human achievement. I think what offends me the most about them is the way they shape society, I always believed that they were supposed to reflect life and so take us away temporarily from our boring hum-drum existance and give us a bit of harmless escapism. Now however they seem to set the rules for human behaviour not follow the rules society has set for itself. No such thing, written by self-aggrandising, self-righteous baffoons the story lines are supposed to educate the masses about serious issues - LIES they merely sensationalise human weakness and cheapen society.
The worst thing is that polls show that the vast majority of the youth of Britain get their information on sex education and morals from the soaps (hardly suprising in a nation where 10% of the population believe that the battles in the Lord of the Rings actually happened). I despair, I really do; and there is no alternative, turn over the channel and all you get is 'antique buying by avaricious cretins trying to fleece some old people while competing to renovate a house in France and cooking with a camp chef'.
And Dont get me started on Big Brother.
SONG LYRIC OF THE DAY:-
Why do my thoughts loom so large in me
They seem to stay for day after day
They wont disappear I've tried every way.
Then she smiled sweetly, she smiled sweetly
She smmiled sweetly and then said 'dont worry'.
TODAYS GIBBER:-
Go Jack Go give us some of your sage and honest wisdom.
Jonathan if you're there I shall now confess my sin to the world. -
9 o'clock sunday morning. Jonathan is hammering on my door to go and play squash with him (as he knows this is the only time of the week when he can win). I however am fast asleep on the chaisse longe at chateayu riggsy and cannot hear him banging away at my portal (woof). My Stowford stuper is blinding me to all thoughts other than a rather odd dream about rabbits.
Sorry mate, that didnt sound much like an appology, but it is truly and fairly meant - tell you what, next time we play I'll let you win!
Hope everyone is well. I have decided once and for all to live a more healthy lifestyle, stop laughing shoogs, and if I havent lost any weight by next month please tease me mercilessly.
Take care,
sorry about the anti-soap vitriolic spleen may have been a touch excessive.
Love and hugs
Dan
